Totalmobile 6.5

There has been a constant buzz of activity here in Totalmobile and some of that buzz has been around the 6.5 release of the Totalmobile server and Totalmobile for Windows Phone. Our continued development and improvement of our products is a core principle for the whole team as it keeps our customers at the top of their game.

So, what can you expect from the latest update? First up is our Optimise platform, our state of the art, dynamic scheduling application, that innovates how planners organise their workforce. At the core of Optimise is our Mendel engine, named after Gregor Johann Mendel, the Austro-German scientist, Augustinian friar and abbot of St. Thomas’ Abbey in Brno who gained posthumous fame as the founder of the modern science of genetics.

For our Optimise platform, you’ll find a host of new abilities that will continue to improve your staff’s daily work life. A major addition is our automatic appointment booking feature, which allows large numbers of jobs to be automatically appointed in the most efficient way possible. It does this through Appointment Slot Templates rather than specific dates and times, allowing effective scheduling and increased efficiency.

Another major development is the ability to assign rosters to resources in multiple Optimise worlds. What do we mean by “worlds”? Mendel can simultaneously solve multiple scheduling problems through the use of worlds.  A Mendel World is a self-contained scheduling problem.  This could be an entire organisation or a department or team within an organisation. The use of worlds means that a single organisation can apply different scheduling objectives to different parts of their organisation, saving time and most importantly making a planner’s life easier.

With the Optimise 6.5 update, staff can work for different teams, in different geographic regions or multiple worlds. Say hello to even more mobility and flexibility! Couple this with the host of other items on our update list, such as loaning resources to other Optimise worlds, updates within travel mode and updated weighting when scheduling, you have a comprehensive update that continues to improve staff routines and increase functionality for users.

The big question is, how can you upgrade your current Totalmobile platform? Don’t panic, once we are approved by the Windows Store we will be conducting a staged roll out, once this is complete it will be available for all in the Windows Store. Just sit back and let the update come to you.

To upgrade to our Totalmobile server 6.5 all you have to do is get in touch with our support team. If you are a partner or enterprise customer, then you’ll be able to access the server build from your own dedicated FTP site. But if you need help, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
