Field Service Management business Totalmobile, has secured a contract with specialist property services company Fortem, to transform the way it delivers repairs and maintenance services to local government and commercial clients across the UK.

It was awarded following an initial nine-week pilot project which saw Totalmobile’s Mobilise system deliver substantial productivity and service gains by digitalising and automating key processes used by Fortem’s gas engineers in the field.

The first phase of the agreement saw the software rolled-out nationwide to over 200 housing repair and maintenance gas specialists across several new contracts Fortem had secured in 2019.

The second phase is set to see this increase to 500 employees across all Fortem housing repairs contracts by May 2020.

Accessed through a single app on engineers’ mobile devices both online or offline, the system will provide immediate visibility over tasks and customer information whilst streamlining administration, data entry and compliance processes.

The additional capacity this creates will enable engineers to focus on delivering consistently high levels of client service and complete more jobs within a day.

Established in 2002, Fortem provides specialist property support services that ensure homes, learning environments, offices and public buildings run smoothly.

The company completes 400,000 repairs in occupied homes and prepares 10,000 vacant properties for future occupancy every year.

Chris Hone, Systems Director at Fortem, said: “We’re seeing significant year-on-year growth in demand, so it’s essential to invest in technology that enables us to provide repair and maintenance services efficiently and to the highest standards.

“After a highly successful trial, it was clear from the data and employee feedback we received that Totalmobile’s Mobilise solution provides engineers with invaluable support in the field and addressed one of our key challenges of effective offline working.

“By providing real-time access to key information and easy to use administrative tools, the software makes their jobs easier and ensures they have more time to focus on service delivery. It also provides us with a platform to support future innovation and continue to offer the best service to our clients.

“We’re excited to be able to roll this mobile working solution out across all our branches over the coming months.”

Totalmobile’s CEO, Jim Darragh, commented: “The initial project clearly demonstrated the transformational impact mobile workforce management technology can have in field service environments where capacity, efficiency, service and compliance are key.

“It’s fantastic that we’re now partnering with Fortem to ensure customers across the UK can benefit from the investment being made to fully optimise and enable their front-line workforce.”
