The category we are in the final for is ‘The Right Place to Work’. From this category the judges were looking for socially responsible organisations that can demonstrate close links to community or charitable initiatives and have a genuine commitment to environmental issues.

At the start of 2014, TotalMobile decided to make a pledge to make CSR a strategic agenda for the business. In order to start doing this, TotalMobile put together an annual plan to significantly increase their community and charity involvement.

The plan started with becoming members of Business in the Community which would help the organisation get involved with various initiatives and events designed to benefit those throughout the community. It was also around this time that TotalMobile choose Marie Curie as their charity of the year and proposed to raise £20,000 for the charity across 2014.

The introduction of these strategies has become a great source for staff motivation and morale. It has presented something that staff at all levels and departments can get together to get behind, create a rejuvenation of team spirit. This motivation is not just reflected in the CSR and charity work but is also having a positive impact upon business activity.

TotalMobile has undertaken a series of initiatives over the last six months that benefit both the local community and raise money for Marie Curie. Visit our CSR page to look at just some of the initiative we have put in place this year.

Irish News Workplace & Employment Award Winners will be announced on June 19th at the Titanic, Belfast.
