As part of a recently launched charity initiative, Totalmobile are delighted to contribute to Forest Bridge School, based in Berkshire.

Forest Bridge School, which opened in 2015, is a specialised free school that provides an education for children and young people with a primary diagnosis of autism. With 80 pupils aged between 4 and 16, the aim of the school is to offer a suitable and secure environment in which to provide therapeutic and an ABA based teaching approach  to enable children with autism to reach their full potential.

Although set up just over 5 years ago, the school is currently operating out of a temporary premise in Maidenhead. The £5,000 donation from Totalmobile will help Forest Bridge School as they look to move to a permanent location in in February of this year. This move will not only help provide the children with improved facilities but will also enable Forest Bridge School to increase their intake to 96 pupils.

The school is providing a much-needed resource, after being set up in 2015 due to a lack of support services for children with autism in the area. It has since become the first free school in the UK to take an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) approach, which is proven to deliver the most positive outcomes when nurturing children with autism.

Tracy Holliday, who was involved in the setup of the school, and whose daughter Freya attends Forest Bridge, highlighted the importance of the School for many children throughout Berkshire…

“The demand for school places for children with autism by far outweighs the supply of places available.  The waiting list at Forest Bridge is unfortunately as long as the number of children in the school.  We are very excited to be opening the purpose-built provision, however, to enable us to deliver all the additional facilities an autism school requires we have been very dependent on fund raising.   Totalmobile have very kindly donated over £5,000 to fund the large screen, audio and projector required in our new hall”

“The hall equipment will increase opportunities for the pupils to engage in phase or school wide learning and events, allow staff to engage in high quality training out of school hours and allow families a higher quality audience experience during our bi-annual Forest Bridge Schools Got Talent show.”

The donation to Forest Bridge School is the first of a new charity initiative launched by Totalmobile, which will run throughout 2021.

Jim Darragh, CEO, Totalmobile highlight, “A number of incredibly successful years has seen Totalmobile achieve significant growth. As we experience this growth, it is my passionate belief that as a company we contribute and support some of the many worthy local causes in communities across the UK.

Forest Bridge School is certainly an example of a local establishment that provides incredible services to children with autism throughout the local area. It is my privilege that Totalmobile is able to contribute to the amazing work that they do, and I look forward to hearing about how they continue to grow and help more children and parents.”
