Press Release

The new agreement will deliver tight integration between Totalmobile’s mobile workforce enablement solution and Servelec’s patient care record and case management systems, to improve productivity for health and social care professionals, ensuring they have the right information at the point of service delivery

Totalmobile, the leading mobile workforce solution provider and Servelec, the leading provider of health, social care and education software, have today announced an agreement to develop APIs that will enable comprehensive integration between the solutions. The agreement will deliver frontline health and care professionals with improved access to patient information.

The new strategic arrangement will provide tangible benefits to healthcare providers, patients, social care practitioners and their clients alike, achieved through the delivery of a suite of APIs to enable Rio and Mosaic, Servelec’s electronic patient record and case management systems, to integrate directly with Totalmobile’s mobile workforce enablement platform, in a combined product offering; Mobilise.

The relationship between Totalmobile and Servelec enables health and care teams to be effectively mobilised, leading to improvements in how key care services are delivered. For example, care professionals will now have an improved contextual view of a patient’s health records, with the ability to update information, at the point of care.

The potential increases in productivity will help health providers to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing the NHS and social care; such as the growing demand on services and the limited resources available to meet this demand. Most importantly, the new way of working reduces pressures on health and care professionals and enables them to focus on delivering improvements in the standard of care.

Virgin Care are already benefitting from the relationship, after rolling out Totalmobile’s mobile solution, which connects to Servelec’s Rio system, to their community nursing teams. Parker Moss, Chief Technology and Transformation Officer, Virgin Care, highlights, “We have provided our frontline staff with an improved way of working, that eliminates paperwork and gives staff the freedom to focus on the needs of the patient. We’ve seen huge benefits, including productivity increases of around 30% per annum, without compromising the quality of care. If fact, by maximising the time spent with our patients, our community nurses are able to put all their efforts into delivering the highest standard of care services. The integration agreement between Totalmobile and Servelec is welcome news, which presents an exciting opportunity to health and care providers across the UK.”

The news is a welcome move within the converging UK health and social markets as the improved flow of information is a crucial component towards enhancing how health and care services are delivered.

Mike Farrar, former Chief Executive, NHS Confederation commented, “Bringing actionable patient data into the hands of health and care workers to enable them to improve not only the service they deliver at point of care but enabling a step change in productivity will be a game changer for the wider large mobile workforces across healthcare.  Interoperability between patient record and case management systems with the mobile world of work will deliver transformative results for patients, for workers and for the NHS.”

The relationship marks a positive step forward in the interoperability challenge faced within the health and social care markets, as the leading mobile health provider is now working closely with the largest care record systems provider across mental health, community health, child health and social care.

Both companies view today’s agreement as an exciting opportunity and most importantly, believe it will ultimately benefit many care organisations across the UK.

Jim Darragh, CEO, Totalmobile stated, “With a ‘mobile worker first’ approach to innovation, we transform how organisations work and enable people to do more of the work that matters.  This agreement further underpins what customers in health and care have been asking for, device agnostic, single point of access into the information they need to be better informed with all case related data and images enabling them to be more productive with their patients. Integration to WorkNow, our workforce enablement platform further supports the drive towards interoperability, to benefit those that are delivering key health services to the public.“

Alan Stubbs, Chief Executive Officer, Servelec Group Plc added; “At Servelec, we have no doubt that mobile technology is the future of effective care delivery and have been working with our customers to deliver mobile solutions that deliver results. Driving improvements and efficiencies across all care settings by making sure the right information is shared with the right person at the right time also increases the chances of an improved outcome. We are extremely pleased to be working with Totalmobile to deliver this collective vision for the future of care provision to our customers through the development of open APIs.”
