New technology set to streamline care delivery, reduce paperwork, and enhance support for residents
EAST AYRSHIRE, UK – January 29, 2025 – Totalmobile, a leading provider of field service management software, is pleased to announce a new partnership with East Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership (EAHSCP) to enhance its Care at Home services. EAHSCP will be implementing Totalmobile’s innovative care management and monitoring solutions aimed at driving efficiency and improving quality of service delivery.
The partnership represents a significant step forward for EAHSCP in embracing new technology to tackle operational challenges, with significant investment from East Ayrshire Council’s Innovation Fund in order to improve service capacity and efficiency. Until now, the Care at Home service was scheduling care staff visits manually with no automated means of rescheduling work to meet changing service demands. This meant staff were under significant pressure to reschedule visit allocation manually, resulting in inefficient deployment of staff and greater travel time and costs. This has placed significant pressure on office and care staff alike. By integrating Totalmobile’s platform, East Ayrshire will see major improvements in resource management and a significant reduction in paperwork, allowing care staff to focus on delivering high-quality, compassionate care.
Councillor Clare Maitland, East Ayrshire Council’s cabinet member with responsibility for health and social care, said:
“Our partnership with Totalmobile is a tremendous opportunity to transform our Care at Home service through harnessing digital technology to improve the experience both for people who use services and our staff. While we anticipate significant efficiency gains which are necessary within a challenging financial climate within the health and care sector, the main benefit we hope to deliver is a more responsive, consistent and professional service that is tailored to each person and family we support.”

Craig Ross, Senior Manager (Localities Health and Care Services) at EAHSCP, said:
“We are very much looking forward to this next step in our work with Totalmobile. We’ve already been part of the collaborative Totalmobile user community in Scotland, which has been invaluable to inform our local roll out and how we tailor the system to meet our local requirements. This technology will allow our care teams to spend more time with people using our services, making a real difference in their daily lives.”

Chris Hornung, Managing Director of Public Sector at Totalmobile, commented,
“We’re delighted to welcome East Ayrshire to our growing network of Scottish customers. Our technology is designed to drive efficiency while significantly improving service quality. We’re also committed to supporting the council at every step of the way, with a dedicated director, customer success team, help desk, project manager, functional lead, and expert consultants on hand throughout the implementation. This approach will ensure that the Council receives the full benefit of Totalmobile’s comprehensive customer ecosystem.”
– Chris Hornung, Managing Director of Public Sector at Totalmobile
Totalmobile has tailored its offering to meet the specific needs of the partnership, including streamlining overtime payment processing and vehicle audit checks. The solution will also provide real-time reporting, allowing for proactive planning and service adjustments based on the needs of the service.
The projected impact of these improvements is substantial, with expected annual efficiency gains of over £1.3 million once project is fully implemented. This is equivalent to adding the productivity of 40 new staff members, highlighting the transformative potential of the partnership. By optimising routes travelled, care teams will be able to reduce travel times, mileage costs and carbon footprint, enabling the service to maximise the time spent face to face within client’s homes and respond more quickly in emergencies.
