Totalmobile Health and Wellbeing Week
As a gesture of our appreciation for all your hard work this year, Totalmobile will be holding a week-long ‘health and wellbeing’ campaign w/c 7th December.
Activities will range from mental health and mindfulness to beauty, fitness, finance and much more (see the attached poster). We will even have a Christmas jumper competition and of course our Christmas party will be taking place next Thursday evening followed by some post-party fun on the Friday.
So please take advantage of the various sessions that are on offer as there is a wide range to suit many preferences.
12 Week Weight Loss Challenge Winners Announced
The twelve week weight loss challenge finished today and our three biggest losers were announced.

Collectively our 9 Totalmobile participants lost an impressive 60.2lbs. This weighs as much as 38 iPads! Well done to all our participants.
Ulster Aviation Society Raises £650 for Marie Curie Cancer Care
The Ulster Aviation Society kindly loaned their Spitfire to the Marie Curie Cancer Care, Northern Ireland Daffodil Appeal.
Placed in Forestside Shopping Centre people were able to support Marie Curie Cancer Care by getting a photo taken inside the cockpit of the legendary Spitfire!
Totalmobile staff member John Martin is also a member of Ulster Aviation Society and helped organise the day
Totalmobile Launch Know the R.I.S.K.s app for Action for Brain Injury Awareness Week
Gareth Tolerton, Chief Technical Officer of Totalmobile, said: “The ‘Know the RISKS’ app is the outcome of our first ‘Code for Better’ hack where those interested in software development came together at Totalmobile to create a resource that informs you what to do in the case of a mild brain injury.
“With 7 in 10 people in the UK owning a smart phone there was a clear opportunity to create a simple app where the public can easily access information.”
“Action for Brain Injury is a great cause and we are pleased to be able to use our skills in the mobile technology sector to help the organisation create this resource which we hope will make a real difference to those who suffer brain injuries.”
Totalmobile raise an impressive £25,850 for Marie Curie Cancer Care
Totalmobile have far exceeded our annual charity target, raising an impressive £25,850 for Marie Curie.
We used innovative techniques to engage staff in fundraising, including allowing them to buy an extra days’ holiday for £30!
Totalmobile also took part in Business in the Community’s £ for lb challenge where the company pledged to donate one pound for each pound in body weight shed by staff who had signed up to a company run weight loss scheme.
Money raised at our annual customer conference and donations from suppliers also helped to exceed the initial target of £20,000 for 2014 set at the start of the year.

CoderDojo Belfast, run by Belfast Metropolitan College, is pleased to be partnering with Totalmobile to support the Dojo and its continued growth. This support will enable the Dojo to continue to operate for the 14/15 Academic Year.
Totalmobile's Customer Conference 2014
Totalmobile’s Customer Conference 2014 was a huge success; not only did customers enjoy an informative and entertaining two days but we raised a staggering £4,040 for charity. Customers from across the UK attended the conference which took place in the Hilton, Belfast on September 25th and 26th.
Sponsorship from our partner Redcentric and entertainment in the form of a pub quiz, auction and raffle raised the much needed funds. A massive thank you to all who contributed their time and hard earned cash.
Walk Ten for Marie Curie
Totalmobile got their walking boots on and picnic supplies out for Marie Curie’s 10k evening fundraising walk. The Walk Ten Belfast took place at Stormont Estate, on Saturday August 30th.
Rebecca Reid said, “taking part in Marie Curie’s walk ten was an uplifting experience. There was a great feeling of unity between all that were present. It feels great that our sponsorship money will go towards hours of care provided by Marie Curie nurses.”

Marie Curie’s Walk Ten Belfast
Having welcomed more than 1,800 walkers to Walk Ten Belfast 2013, who together raised a staggering £140,000 in support of local Marie Curie Nurses and helped fund 7,000 hours of Nursing, the charity is focused on bigger and better in 2014!
As a key fundraising partner of Marie Curie’s, Totalmobile’s Rebecca Reid was delighted to take part in Marie Curie’s Walk Ten launch, joined by Marie Curie Nurse, Kashia and Community Fundraiser, Grace Smyth.
Totalmobile Develop App for Action Brain Injury Awareness Week
Development of the app began at a 12 hr <Code For Better> Hack Day that took place here at TotalMobile, Pilot Point in Belfast from 9am to 9pm following the launch of the week-long campaign to increase awareness of the risks of mild brain injury organised by the ABI Working Group.
Totalmobile’s £ for lb challengers have raised a remarkable £741.10 for Marie Curie
Collectively our 10 Totalmobile participants lost a whopping 129.9lbs. The campaign, in partnership with the Public Health Agency and Westfield Health, involved around 800 NI employees taking part in a friendly competition to lose weight in 12 weeks. The weight lost in pounds was then converted into cash and will be donated to a range of heart and cancer charities chosen by participating employers.

Totalmobile’s Staff Help Release More Time to Care for Marie Curie Nurses
Marie Curie Shops have fuller shelves thanks to a successful ‘Donate Day’ this week. Staff from all areas of Totalmobile donated bags of their belongings to help raise funds and stock for Marie Curie Shops.
On average each bag of donated goods raises £20 which in turn will provide one hour of Marie Curie Nursing Care. With a total of 46 bags we not only raised £920 but subsequently enabled 46 hours of care to terminally ill patients in their homes and at the Belfast hospice.
Charity of the Year
Totalmobile’s Charity of the Year 2014 is Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Marie Curie provides care for people with cancer in Northern Ireland and throughout the UK and is a charity that is close to the hearts of many of the Totalmobile team.

CSR supported by Business in the Community
Totalmobile’s CSR activities are supported by Business in the Community, who help to guide us in our charity, community and environmental practices. BITC helps us take part in programmes that both help people in the local community and empower our staff.
We also encourage our employees when they’ve been inspired to make a difference – supporting them in fundraising, giving, volunteering and sponsored activities. In recent years we have raised funds for a Rwanda appeal as well as much needed finance for a premature baby unit in Belfast’s Royal Victoria hospital.
Totalmobile in the Community: Banbridge High School
As part of Totalmobile’s CSR activities in association with Business in the Community, the company have taken part in an activity to prepare school pupils for their future careers and further education. Totalmobile Partner Manager John Martin was invited by Banbridge High’s Head of Sixth Form & Careers Coordinator Siobhan Haines to carry out mock interviews with 6th form pupils at the School.
John Martin said “It was really encouraging to see both the schools and the students preparing and planning so well for their future in this increasingly competitive world, I was delighted to be able to help.”
